On August 30 I was reading my email and came across a note from Agora Financial of . I didn’t keep the email after I responded but I thought I signed up for a $20-30 report.

I used my Discover card to pay. When the Discover bill came I found that I had been charged $5,000 on August 30. I called Agora and was told that that charge was for a subscription service and they couldn’t help me. I needed to deal with the credit card company.

I called Discover and they suspended the charge. The next month my bill reflected the credit and also a recharge from Agora for the $5,000. I called Discover and they connected me with Agora who said the charge was for a subscription service and through it I get full access to their research library. I don’t need a research library.

I am a retired disabled veteran living on a fixed income and all my investible assets are under management of my financial advisor. I was never given a timely notice of a $5,000 charge nor a timely right of rescission.

Reason of review: Return, Exchange or Cancellation Policy.

Monetary Loss: $5000.

Preferred solution: Full refund.

Agora Financial Cons: Failure to prominently disclose pricing.

Well sometimes the "Devil" will actually respond, just as sometimes you will get the occassional correspondence with Agora customer service. But like the former, the outcome is always negative, or downright EVIL!

Yes, received a credit card bill for $2000 from Agora Financial. When questioned, they said I signed up for a bond service which I did not.

When I asked for a refund to my credit card, they refused.

I do not have any interest in bonds. Seeking an attorney for cancellation of charge on my credit card.
