I looked at their posted track record ... their open portfolio of excercised put options... owned stock against which they sell covered calls ... stands at over 182,000 at cost. As of July 27/16 the value of this account stands at 121,000. This 60 K loss is partially...

I certainly wondered about this. There is nothing very secret or mysterious about selling puts.

The "secret sauce" is which underlying, at what strike, and what expiration. I'm guessing the Tuesday recommendation is for that week's expiration, taking advantage of Monday's time decay.

Tough way to make $1500/month. You would have to sell multiple contracts, opening yourself to the downside of having x contracts times 100 times strike price put to you--could be 10s of thousands of dollars--not to mention the risk the price blows through the strike to the downside.

Imagine you are 70 years old but you literally can't afford to retire and are still working. You live on a ranch in South America that nobody wants or is willing to buy from you, the pure definition of a bad investment.

You claim to have seen events before they happened but you have no verifiable printed proof of any of it. A home in Baltimore? again, another really bad investment.

Basically all you have left in life is a newsletter that you hope people will buy so that you don't lose everything else. Welcome to the world of Bill Bonner.

I agree to pay $4.95 for a "free book". The book was a rambling, poorly written piece of garbage. Then 2 months later my credit card was charged $99 for Jim Rickards Strategic something or other. When I called to complain they hung up on me. Do NOT give this company a...

Agora Financial - Review in Financial Services category from Cambridge, Massachusetts

Has anyone actually made money with Agora Financial LLC, selling options? I just watched an email advertisement claiming that Arora Financial will provide me with big blue chip company names every Tuesday morning that generate real income over 98% of the time. These people want investors with a minimum investable income of $20k. They are asking for $1500 for their starter kit. I am trying to find out if this is just another internet scam or not. Please advise. Thank you

Heh heh - so now your put option u sold has your 20k frozen by your broker till the expiration - so u figure u will close it and take a new position to make another $200 - so u sell it to someone else to close, but now u pay them the $200 premium (depending which way the stock moved) - so u net 0 taking the risk the whole time - see agora knows there is no 'magic', just *** people they can scam $1500 from.

$1500 scam u *** - learn options trading yourself and don't be lazy - simple put selling strategy has plenty of risk - don't pay agora for they're bs advice

Anonymous
#1191220

Scam - here's why - u r selling put options to a buyer of put option (100 shares to a contract) - if underlying stock tanks before the expiration- u take the huge loss instead of the put option buyer - if price goes from 140 to 80 - u have guaranteed to by back at 140 so u lose $6000. So u paid agora 1500 for they're *** prediction - don't be lazy - watch real videos and learn options trading and risks for yourself.

Agora Financial - Question more than a review honestly

Update by user Jun 12, 2016

Again, I am not truly complaining as yet because I do not have enough experience with the company to say it has been a bad experience....

Likewise, I was never provided a Google+, nor a YouTube account for the company.

I don't work for Agora Financial so I have no vested interest in responding to your complaint - but perhaps you should consider (with all due respect) the fact that Agora Financial is first and foremost a publishing company and as such, offers many products involving their writers. Sending out subscription opportunities to these various services/publications therefore is less a matter of "spamming" (more typical of emails touting everything from 'free cell phone' to dating beauties from some country) than it is of "advertising" a companies portfolio of available publications.

As a subscriber to one of the publications, I have noted there is a way to decline being sent promotional offers (usually a link at the bottom of any such email) but if that doesn't work for you - call their customer service number and request to be removed from receiving their promotional mailings. Hope this helps.

Regardless of whether Agora keeps its promises or how it handles customer inquiries, the incontestable fact is that the investments that it recommends create portfolios that loose money. I just inspected the open- and closed-positions reports for each Agora service. ...

I agree, if something seems too good to be true, then it probably is not true.

If these guys were SO successful at picking bluechip stocks and selling options...and they are naming a list every Tuesday morning as in the Instant Income ad...they why would they waste their time making videos trying to convince us, Then charging $1,000 for membership,. If these systems really worked, they would NOT be telling a soul b/c that is human nature., They would be banking left and right and keeping it to themselves like a well kept secret.

Why would they jeopardize EVERYONE on the internet getting in on their secret formulas to selling puts...? Again, its logical...if they were so successful and making $200 in 60 seconds...why would they even take the time to sell their golden idea. WHY? Its simple.

It is a scam. They are making all their money on selling $1K subscriptions to idiots who don't do their research and are looking to get rich quick. THey fail to mention in their instant income video where they talk about financially illiterate people who don't have to buy a single stock, and low risk, and an 8 year old could sell an option that you have to have about $50K or $72K in your investment account to sell an option to make $157 in 60 seconds. Someone who is financially illiterate and never owned a stock is surely NOT going to have $70K in investment money laying around.

Its a joke and they should be black listed off the internet. I am going to build a company that hacks these scammers and shuts them down.
